Role Overview
As a Verification Engineer, you’ll help lead verification and validation (V&V) activities across Motilent’s medical imaging products, ensuring the highest standards of quality, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
You’ll work closely with project managers, engineers, the Technical Product Lead and Solutions Architect to define and execute verification strategies aligned with IEC 62304 and Motilent’s Quality Management System (QMS). Your work will help ensure our products meet the rigorous demands of clinical and research use.
Salary: £30,000 – £40,000, depending on experience and scope of responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as verification owner for assigned software components, maintaining effective, compliant, and traceable verification coverage.
- Create, update, and review verification plans, ensuring clear alignment with design inputs and risk assessments.
- Assemble verification reports for design reviews and regulatory submissions.
- Determine verification levels appropriate to system risk, ensuring efficient and compliant testing strategies.
- Manage verification resources and schedules in collaboration with engineering and product leads.
- Work within a structured Agile/SCRUM environment to support transparent, iterative delivery.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of the QMS, maintaining accurate documentation and verification traceability.
- Define and manage clean verification environments, including all necessary data assets.
- Define and review necessary and sufficient test scenarios based on a deep understanding of the product and risks within its intended use.
- Conduct regular regression testing and defect identification.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in software verification or testing within a regulated or quality-controlled environment.
- Strong time management and attention to detail, with precise documentation skills.
- Familiarity with Mac, Windows and Linux environments for verification and testing.
- Knowledge of RESTful APIs, front-end verification paradigms, and testing frameworks.
- Awareness of ISO and IEC standards relevant to software development and quality (e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 13485, IEC 62304).
- Strong written communication and analytical reasoning skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with DICOM / DICOMWeb imaging workflows.
- Familiarity with Swagger, OAuth2 / OpenID, and containerised environments.
- Experience with headless testing frameworks such as Selenium, Puppeteer, or Playwright.
- Experience with CI/CD test automation, Git, and Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence).
Ways of Working
- Operate within Motilent’s QMS, maintaining traceability and documentation as required by regulated software standards.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, solution architects, QARA, and product teams to ensure alignment across development, quality, and compliance goals.
- Based remotely within the UK, with occasional travel to Motilent’s central London office for collaboration, onboarding, or training.
- Maintain accurate and current records of training, skills, and experience in line with QMS requirements.
